Communicating with the public is a big task, and the Western Bay of Plenty District Council always has a campaign on the go. Whether calling for public input or celebrating seasonal activities, we partnered with the Council on campaigns that make an impact while aligning with the overarching brand.
Representation Review
Seeking to boost engagement in the representation review process, we turned governance into a game show. This campaign wasn't just informative – it was interactive, making learning about local representation as engaging as tuning into your favourite quiz show. Our approach went beyond education, actively encouraging lively participation and feedback from the community.
Long Term Plan 2024
Imagining the future of the district became a collective artistic endeavour with our 'Long Term Plan 2024' campaign. Using the metaphor of pen to paper, we invited residents to sketch out their visions for the future. The unique, alternative colour palette and imagery emphasised the power of community input, making every suggestion a stroke of potential reality.
Summer Ambassadors
Our 'Summer Ambassadors' campaign was as breezy and bright as the season itself. With a nostalgic polaroid theme, we captured the essence of summer fun while conveying important messages about safety and legal responsibilities. The campaign's light-hearted yet poignant reminders helped ensure everyone's holiday was both enjoyable and respectful of local regulations.
Our Summer Info
'Our Summer Info' campaign highlights key summer tips, from water-saving advice to recycling must-knows. Illustrated with lively, cheerful graphics, it makes navigating the seasonal essentials effortless and fun, ensuring that summer info in the Western Bay is as accessible as the sunshine.
Dog Registrations Campaign
With the help of 'Alfie', the council’s beloved canine mascot, we made the annual dog registration reminder impossible to ignore. Reimagined in a vibrant new illustration style, Alfie’s adventures not only reminded dog owners of their duties but did so with a wag of humour and charm.
Wander Dogs Summer Series
The 'Wander Dogs Summer Series' saw our creative leashes come off. We crafted a playful new theme within a comic-style grid that mixed fun scenes with clever messaging. This approach kept the series fresh and exciting while maintaining a recognisable style that dog lovers can’t miss.
Community Matching Fund Campaign
Our campaign for the Community Matching Fund brought people's ideas and dreams vividly to life. We used blank outlines that filled with colour as the community's plans took shape, and with animation, we added an extra layer of engagement, visually demonstrating how communal ideas can blossom into vibrant realities.
Westworld - Internal Intranet Identity
To make the council's intranet more inviting and user-friendly, we launched 'Westworld'. This wasn't just a tech upgrade – it was a complete reimagining. We injected fun into the functionality with a vibrant extension of the brand. With a toolkit of custom elements, icons, and patterns – staff can continuously create fresh content that feels personal yet professionally on-brand.
