The Patrons Brewing Co. is a Hamilton-based microbrewery with global ambitions. As part of a larger hospitality group, they were wanting a brand that hit the right balance between accessible and craft. We partnered with them to deliver a brand that celebrates the very notion of hospitality.
For the people
The team behind this microbrewery knows how to make people feel welcome, no matter who they are. We leaned into their brand truth and chose the name Patrons as this brand is about putting the customers into the DNA of the brewery, where they really belong.

Beer with character
Patrons brew fresh, naturally carbonated beers for, and inspired by, its motley crew of regulars. Our stories and illustration style raise a glass to the whole cast of characters you’ll find at the bar, from social butterflies to habitual barflies.
A colourful mix
Inspired by prohibition era posters, Patrons’ primary colour palette consists of vintage red, army green, faded black and an off white. These distinctive, contrasting colours further help the brand stand out while keeping the typographic design system consistent for brand recognition.
Down with prohibition
Typography is key in beer brands, and this one takes cues from prohibition era protest plaques. Bold and simple in its execution, the Patrons logo and typography has more than a little nod to historic workers’ unions.
